GhostPlug Privacy Policy
Short version
- No telemetry, no analytics, no tracking. The developer runs no GhostPlug server and receives nothing from the app.
- The app talks to Gumroad to verify your license key and to michelstorms.com to check for updates. Nothing else leaves your Mac.
- GhostPlug changes how your screen is arranged. It never captures, records or sends what is on it.
Data the app sends
| What | Where | When | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| License key | Gumroad (api.gumroad.com) | On activation, then about once a day | To confirm the license is valid and not refunded. Gumroad’s privacy policy applies. |
| Update check | michelstorms.com | About once a day, and when you choose Check for Updates… | To fetch the list of available versions (Sparkle). The request identifies only the app and its version; no system profile is sent. |
Both see ordinary network information such as your IP address. The app does not send your name, email, screen contents, or the resolutions you use to the developer or anyone else.
Data stored on your Mac
- Preferences: the resolution you last kept, your favourites and fallback, the Keep timeout, the launch-at-login choice, the trial start date, and license state.
None of this is uploaded. Deleting the app and its preferences removes it.
Purchases
If you buy GhostPlug, Gumroad processes the payment and holds your purchase record (email, order, license key). The developer sees what Gumroad shows sellers about a sale.
Children
GhostPlug is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
Meaningful changes are published on the GhostPlug page, with the date above updated.
