CatchMatch License Agreement
Last updated: 2026-09-19. This is the EULA for CatchMatch, a macOS application.
1. License grant
You ("the customer") are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to use CatchMatch for your personal, non-commercial use on any number of Macs you personally own. The license is tied to the activation key issued to you on purchase.
2. Your responsibilities
CatchMatch is a local conversion and import tool. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to convert any content you process with the app. The app does not verify the rights, licensing, or origin of any source material you supply.
3. Prohibited uses
You may not use CatchMatch to:
- Circumvent digital rights management ("DRM") or any other access-control technology.
- Process content that you do not own or are not licensed to use.
- Download from any service whose terms of use prohibit downloading. CatchMatch is not designed for such services, and using it with them is outside this license.
- Redistribute, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the converted output.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits.
Use of the app for any of the above is a material breach of this agreement; we may revoke your license, with no obligation to refund, on confirmation of such use.
4. Third-party tools
CatchMatch orchestrates two open-source tools. They are not part of CatchMatch; each is installed at your request:
- yt-dlp — used to fetch online media. Distributed
under the Unlicense. When you choose Download yt-dlp,
CatchMatch fetches the official macOS build from the project's GitHub
releases, checks it against the checksum published with that release,
and stores it in
~/Library/Application Support/CatchMatch/bin. You can also install it yourself with Homebrew. https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp - FFmpeg — used to transcode and extract audio. Used dynamically via the LGPL-2.1+ build distributed by Homebrew. https://ffmpeg.org/legal.html
These tools are not bundled inside CatchMatch, are not warranted by us, and may change behavior or break compatibility independently of the app. The app's compatibility with future versions of these tools is best-effort, not guaranteed.
5. Apple Music / iTunes Match
CatchMatch does not include or grant any Apple service. iTunes Match and Apple Music are services from Apple Inc., subject to Apple's own terms. Library sync to your other devices is performed by Apple's services after we deposit the converted file in your local Music auto-add folder.
6. No warranty
CatchMatch is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with all future macOS or third-party tool releases.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or use, arising out of or in connection with this agreement or your use of the app, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
The total cumulative liability of the developer to the customer under this agreement shall not exceed the amount the customer paid for the app.
8. Termination
This license terminates automatically if you breach any of its terms. On termination you must stop using the app. The "Prohibited uses" section survives termination.
9. Updates
You are entitled to all future updates of CatchMatch at no additional cost, including new features and bug fixes, for as long as the app continues to be developed.
10. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of Belgium, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be brought before the competent courts of the judicial district of West Flanders, Belgium, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings in the courts where you live.
